If you have a single carburettor and want your full set up rebuilding, i.e carb - manifold and in some cases air filter, I can offer to do that at a small increase on the cost.

I have done carburettors built to customers spec and needs. Just some to mention are; Twin H2 conversion for a Ford Prefect where the customer supplied a Aquaplane manifold and I built a set of H2 carbs onto it. Other examples includes a HS4 conversion for a Austin 7, and a copy of Twin Cam MGA H6 carbs.

Part exchange can be offered on any SU carburettors, whether that is like for like in set ups or carbs, incomplete units or even just parts/spare car parts.

Whether it is a full set up or just a carburettor in for restoration. Units will be completely and carefully stripped down to component form. Carburettors down to a bare body. Components are then light bead blasted. Steel components blasted, polished and zinc plated. Dash pot tops and brass components highly polished, Dash pot tops are polished to a as near mirror like finish as possible, this varies with the quality of the aluminium. Many hours are spent on these dash pot tops to achieve such a finish. Mating surfaces where possible are refaced to ensure a nice seal is made. Carburettors are then rebuilt with new parts including; Spindles, Jets, Needle Valve & Seats, Washers, Seals, Glands, Gaskets, ‘O’ rings. Carburettors are set to basic running settings, ready to be bolted on.

Full set ups are sent back with manifold-cylinder head gaskets and can be sent with new fuel lines if requested by the customer.

Rebushing: If there is excessive play in the throttle spindle bushes, then a rebush is performed on the carburettor body bushes. This is undertaken with specially made precise reemers. *Please note rebushing needs to be done properly, if your carburettor has been poorly rebushed in the past either with excessively sized poly bushes or not correctly aligned reemed then this can cause problems for future rebushing.

Manifolds are blasted to match the finish of that of the carburettor components. A blasted manifold allows for a more efficient atomisation of the air and fuel mixture. I can offer to paint manifolds.

In some cases setups can have a heatshield, abutment brackets and spacers on them. Heatshields and abutment brackets will be light bead blasted, primed and painted in 2 pack gloss black. Odd bracketry can be polished and zinc plated if wanted. Odd Heatshields such as those on an MGA or a MGB have the heat resistant on. This will be replaced with newer and safer material. Spacers will be degreased, plastic units will be painted over in black, aluminium units will be polished.

Carburettors which have been exposed to the elements will be disassembled with as much care as possible along with the correct tooling and machinery.
